Apartment fire displaces about 20 residents; blaze is quickly out with no injuries

At about 11:15 a.m., on Thursday, April 7, the Salt Lake City Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at  1834 W. Independence Blvd. (1475 N.) No one was injured in the blaze. Ten two-story units were affected by the fire, and 20 to 30 renters displaced. The American Red Cross stepped in immediately to give them assistance.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, early estimations of the damages are around $200,000.
