Structure Fire

417 E. Milton Ave., SLC, UT

At 1945 hrs. on June 18, 2017, the Salt Lake City Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 417 E. Milton Ave. On arrival at 1949 hrs., first- in crews found a fully involved shed with attached garage burning at the rear of the address. A 2nd alarm was announced due to the volume of fire and proximity of other structures. The fire had spread into an RV trailer parked next to the shed, and was threatening the home. Responding crews initiated an offensive fire attack, knocking down the bulk of the fire, and protecting several other home exposures adjacent to the fire address. A 3rd alarm was called for, but on- scene crews managed to control the fire prior to their arrival. The fire was declared under control at 2026 hrs. Damage to the shed and RV trailer was extensive, with mild to moderate damage to the rear of the home next to where the RV trailer was parked. There was no damage to adjacent homes due to the quick placement of exposure control lines. There were no civilian or Fire Department casualties. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time, as well damage dollar estimates.
